Abstract
The study is on AI decision support systems and employee performance Nigeria financial sector. The specific objectives are to: investigate the relationship between expert system and employee punctuality and to examine the relationship between problem-solving and employee knowledge sharing of deposit money banks in Nigeria. This study adopted a descriptive survey research design. The population of the study comprised of staff 10 deposit money banks in South-East, Nigeria. With a total population of 4,624 staff representing the banks from which samples of senior and junior staff were selected. A total number of 531 respondents was determined and used as the sample size for the study. The instrument for data collection was the structured questionnaire. Data from the questionnaire were analyzed using simple percentages, mean and standard deviation, and the research hypotheses was tested using the structural equation modeling (SEM) regression, with the aid of SmartPLS Version 4.0. The findings of the study revealed that there was also found that there was a significant positive relationship between expert system and employee punctuality (β = 0.105, p = 0.007) and that there was a statistically significant relationship between problem solving skills and employee knowledge sharing (β = 0.046, p = 0.002). The study concluded that AI support systems positively support employee performance. It was recommended among other things that deposit money banks should leverage expert systems for operational support and time management: With expert systems positively affecting punctuality, banks should invest further in intelligent systems that support task scheduling, time tracking, and workflow reminders to improve timeliness and productivity across departments.
