Abstract

Community-based tourism destinations have become an important driver of local economic development. The United States is characterized by rich cultural and natural diversity, making cultural tourism villages valuable assets for sustainable tourism growth. This study focuses on the role of digitalization in promoting cultural tourism destinations, using a representative community-based tourism setting in the United States as a case study. The emphasis is not only on the adoption of digital technologies but also on enhancing governance structures, community involvement, and destination branding. The study adopts a quantitative research approach, utilizing numerical data and statistical analysis to examine and interpret the impact of digital tools on tourism promotion. The findings indicate that the successful implementation of digital technologies in tourism promotion depends largely on the availability of infrastructure, community readiness, and institutional support from local authorities, including funding and policy backing. Furthermore, the study identifies various digital promotional tools employed to attract tourists while preserving cultural identity. These include hardware such as mobile devices, drones, and GPS systems, as well as software platforms like websites and social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. The study concludes that integrating digital technologies with community participation and cultural preservation strategies is essential for enhancing the visibility and sustainability of tourism destinations.
