Special Issues Guidelines
Special Issues provide an opportunity to bring together high-quality research on emerging themes, interdisciplinary subjects, or focused academic debates.
At Wilma Global Journals, we welcome proposals for Special Issues that contribute significantly to the advancement of scholarship and align with the aims and scope of our journals.
1. Purpose of Special Issues
- To address current trends, innovations, and challenges in specific academic fields.
- To promote collaborative research among scholars, practitioners, and institutions.
- To provide a platform for thematic discussions beyond the scope of regular issues.
2. Proposal Submission
Prospective Guest Editors or Organising Committees should submit a proposal including:
- Proposed title of the Special Issue.
- Rationale and objectives outlining relevance and contribution.
- Proposed themes or topics to be covered.
- List of potential contributors (if available).
- Short profile(s) of proposed Guest Editor(s), including academic background and editorial experience.
Proposals should be sent to the Editorial Office for evaluation.
3. Approval Process
- The Editorial Board reviews proposals for relevance, originality, and feasibility.
- Approved Special Issues will be formally announced.
- A Call for Papers (CFP) will be published on the journal website and circulated widely.
4. Role of Guest Editors
Guest Editors are responsible for:
- Drafting and promoting the Call for Papers.
- Managing peer review in collaboration with the editorial team.
- Ensuring timely submission and review of manuscripts.
- Writing a preface or editorial introduction.
- Following all ethical and publication policies.
5. Review and Quality Assurance
- All Special Issue submissions undergo the same double-blind peer review as regular issues.
- The Editorial Office may reject, accept, or redirect manuscripts that do not meet standards.
- Guest Editors must avoid conflicts of interest.
6. Publication Timeline
- Special Issues should ideally be completed within 2–12 months of approval.
- Submission, review, and revision deadlines must be clearly communicated.
- Delayed issues may be merged with regular issues to maintain schedules.
7. Promotion and Dissemination
- Accepted Special Issues will be highlighted on the journal homepage.
- Guest Editors and contributors are encouraged to promote the issue through academic networks and conferences.
- The Editorial Office may provide flyers, campaigns, or press releases for added visibility.
8. Archiving and Accessibility
- Special Issues are permanently archived and remain openly accessible.
- Each issue receives a unique volume/issue number and DOI for indexing and citation.
9. Editorial Oversight
While Guest Editors manage Special Issues, the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board retain final responsibility for publication decisions.
This ensures consistency with the journal’s mission, quality standards, and ethical policies.
